During the latest episode of One on One, seasoned diplomatic correspondent Akbar Shahid Ahmed discusses the major realignment the Democratic Party is undergoing following its defeat in the 2024 election and a campaign season marred by the party's complicity in Israel's genocide in Gaza. Ahmed, who authored the forthcoming book Crossing the Red Line: Biden, His Advisors, and Israel's War in Gaza, notes that certain positions considered politically untouchable in 2023 and 2024 are now actively propelling several Democratic candidates to victory. He adds that voters "want to see a shift in policy" on America's involvement in conflicts abroad. He adds that it is now "on Democrats to show, if you entrust us with power, we'll [make change] at the federal level".
