@ancientlyx: The Vietnam War ended decades ago, but its dangers remain. Unexploded bombs and landmines still make some areas unsafe today. #VietnamWar #History #WarHistory #DarkHistory #DidYouKnow
there are still booby traps and shit so yeah I'm not tryna go visit the Vietnam jungle and fall in a trap and get spikes up my ass

My grandpa was a medic in the Vietnam war. He never talks about it. I always wonder what kind of horrible things he’s seen, but will never bring it up to him. He has beat cancer twice and is now dealing with cancer a 3rd time bc of agent orange. Unfortunately he’s to weak for any kind of Treatment, so he’s just living out the rest of his life the best he can.

mind you this was the most traumatizing Wars America had to face not just because the deaths but because Vietnam had literally children wilding weapons so you’d either go home knowing you murdered a child or losing your life to a child

seeing so many people talk about their grandfathers returning from this war and being traumatized from it while knowing at that same time these men were told they were baby killers and were not welcomed home makes me sad war is dark and no one really wins in the end

My Opa was in the Vietnam war. Not even my mom knew he was until she was 35. He never talks about it. And the one time he did. I asked him two questions. “Did you ever kill someone” yes of course. “Did you ever kill a child?” I don’t want to answer any more questions. He has PTSD and his dreams are only a fraction of the fear he went through
