@cgut29: On August 15th, Catholics celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. At the end of her earthly life, Mary was taken body and soul into Heaven. She did not ascend by her own power, as Jesus did. She was lifted into glory by God—the same God she trusted when the angel told her she would become the mother of the Saviour. Mary’s life was not easy. She gave birth in poverty. She fled with Jesus into Egypt. She watched her Son suffer, carry the Cross, and die before her eyes. Yet through every moment of fear and sorrow, she remained faithful. The Assumption reminds us that suffering and death do not have the final word. Mary is already living the promise that God offers to all who follow Christ: the resurrection of the body and eternal life.
