the reason you need to know cursive is because many of our early very important documentation is written in cursive and if for whatever reason translations were changed you should have the ability to read the original.

Guess how our most historic and founding national documents are written? Also, plenty of professions need cursive skills. Surveyors for instance. You need to be able to read original documents often dating to the bare early 1800s. Most I research are from 1805. They only wrote in cursive on those documents.

Like yes, they wanna fucking say cursive is so fucking important but the money you get up to college then they yell at you for using curse of like the fuck? But cursive is important to write your name or sign off on medical documents or bank statements.

Writing in cursive is fun but I wished I learned short hand for notes. I write in cursive because most people struggle to read it and it makes the writing more private 🤷🏻♀️😂

vocab is essential (FOR THE MOST PART) but you can learn new terms at any age and the way school teaches it isn't all that effective. I forgot most vocab words I learned in school. cursive tho? yeah naw I was never able to retain cursive. I can't read it anyways due to my dyslexia, and I haven't ever used it for anything. my writing is legible and that's what matters.

my teacher would say that the higher grades wouldn't accept any assignment not written in cursive and on the rare occasion they would they would take points off for not using it or give extra credit for using it
