Honestly OTR isn’t where it’s at anymore… locals make easy $1300-$1500 take home now days while OTR drivers are driving for .55 to .65cpm on average and that’s only $1700? Take home at .65cpm for 3k miles driven… OTR sucks! Not worth it anymore

Facts there’s a lot of time that you’re not getting compensated for and I realized that which is why I got out yes you get paid per mile but other than that anything else that goes into it there’s no compensation

OTR Drivers should be paid a federal minimum wage as soon as they go on duty at their home domicile. For all hours on duty and away from home plus their miles or load pay. In a perfect world all truckers should just be hourly, overtime after 8 on all hours away from home.

Fuel prior to loading. No stopping for first 200 miles. Constant contact with dispatch. Park in secured areas. I don't miss those days. 💯

if you are prevented from leaving the truck n trailer, without responsibility, you must be paid for your time off. I've received 2 random checks from past employers, who deducted 30 min breaks from my hourly. after random audits and class action suits that I didn't even know about, I received checks in the mail.

I'm sitting here trying to think of a high value load that isn't for teams because I've only seen one where the distance is short enough to be traveled in a single shift. As a team we're not allowed to stop somewhere for more than 3 hours on a hi-val, what do you mean people are on their sleeper breaks? 🤔 What company is this?

This is why i never did long haul trucking.. always driven local because i believe they're all underpaid for the amount of work they do. Even if they're off duty or in sleeper technically still they are at work.
