that is simply wrong. he uses the suit to stop him from getting yellow sun bc he finds the powers overwhelming. he literally just got to earth and is figuring shit out. his powers work as usual

he actually can the issues is that he came late on earth so his body can't choose an amount of solar this can overheat him or he lose control so the suit act like a regulator once superman done charging himself the suit absorb the remaining as a storage once he need some it release it
