@adoptabledogsofmiami1: 🚨Max will be euthanized Monday 8/3🚨 (Not available for adoption through the shelter- RESCUE ONLY- 501c3 nonprofit) 🔴I kindly ask that you please do not email the shelter for updates unless you are local and are planning to foster or adopt. Their inbox gets very busy, and unnecessary emails can slow down their ability to help the animals who need it most. Thank you for understanding! When there is an update this post will be updated at the top of the caption. There was a shelter adoption event today and Max was not able to be a part of it. It was an event where adoptable dogs find homes, but dogs like Max do not make it out there. Even if he were on the adoption floor, I know everyone online says they would adopt him, but the reality is the majority of adopters we meet in person are scared even if a dog has kennel cough let alone looks rough like Max. Max had an owner and a home but his owner passed away and everything after that started to fall apart. He ended up tied outside because the person left caring for him could not afford to get him the help he needed. His skin got worse, and after a welfare check was requested on him by a citizen, he was surrendered to animal control to avoid citations. He is 6 years old, incredibly gentle, so loving and still leaning into people like he has not given up on them. I took him to the area where the event was anyway because he deserved to feel a good day. He deserved to be outside and to be reminded what love feels like. Max did not do anything to end up here, life just happened around him. A rescue and foster are urgently needed to step in for Max! •Questions?
