Anyone who ascends the Ashanti throne is given the title Otumfuo. You won’t hear anyone else being called Otumfuo except the person selected from the Oyoko Clan to occupy the throne. I don’t understand why some people still don’t realize that Otumfuo is a royal title the equivalent of saying King.

Simple interpretation; in Ashanti region all the Paramount Chief are under him but in other region and tribes, Paramount Chiefs are the ultimate and greatest chiefs ; and no chief supersedes them.
