@drjulianprosia: Tubing mascara is actually one of my go-to recommendations for many patients with dry eye who still want to wear mascara. This is because It forms tiny “polymer tubes” around each lash instead of coating the lashes with waxes that tend to flake. This means less migration into the tear film than many traditional mascaras. While any mascara can cause irritation if it gets into the eye, there isn’t strong clinical evidence that tubing mascara is inherently unsafe or routinely causes corneal damage. In fact, for many dry eye patients, it may be one of the better cosmetic options. Medicine is all about discussion, and it’s okay for experts to have different perspectives.
