@cjnlegalnurse: 8/2/26 Thousands of Haitian workers in Connecticut lost their authorization to work after Temporary Protected Status protections for Haiti expired. Nursing homes felt the impact immediately, with CNAs, LPNs, RNs, dietary workers, housekeeping staff, and others suddenly unable to report for work. This is where immigration policy becomes healthcare policy. When an already strained healthcare system loses experienced workers overnight, patients and families can feel the consequences. we had 350 TPS workers, mostly from Latin America, impacted by these cruel TPS program ends. We have even more DACA workers in higher level occupations including doctors, nurses and pharmacists. If that program ends we are in a world of hurt in America!

My aunt is on tps and was happy to share that she had a driver's license. you guys need to be reasonable. I can see someone saying why get one if it's temporary. but use your brain, the system allows it. The plan for temporary programs that allow integrations this deep into American society requires a very gradual closing process.
Not only that, but the people are those of another country. Was the process communicated properly? Many Haitians were scammed when first applying. So I have no doubt many are unclear of the status as a whole. Throw in the complicated politics involved and I doubt many older Americans could follow what's going on.
