When you realize that social approval, status, shame, social anxiety, “leagues,” and all that social-construct bullshit don’t actually mean anything, you stop overthinking and just do what you want. You become more spontaneous, impulsive, relaxed, confident, and unapologetically yourself.
And ironically, that’s when people start gravitating toward you. Guys want to hang out with you and be your friend, while women may show interest in you too—both romantically and simply as friends.
But the catch is that you can’t get there by obsessing over whether people will like you or whether you’re attracting attention. You have to stop caring about that outcome, enjoy yourself, and actually live your life.
That’s the irony: the less you care about getting people’s approval or attention, the more naturally you tend to get it.
