I am SO privileged to be in a situation that I was able to leave my corp job and start my own business because my husband’s job pays the bills and we built a VERY sizable nest egg/emergency fund beforehand. I would NEVER come online and tell ppl to do the same without acknowledging that I have a HUGE safety net.

I get it .. but I also did this. I quit my job with no plan. I don’t have a partner and I don’t have kids. But I did have a savings account. I took care of myself and luckily found a job right when I needed it.

The absolute blinders… I absolutely consider my husband AND I to be cosplaying worker bees, but we need to eat. I took a better/harder/higher paying job so my youngest can go to a better college, and while I like the work - I HATE the company, and I feel like that’s not only valid, it’s COMMON. Why is it not normal to admit that you work because you need the money?
