i don’t really agree with the wanting them to change only for you. i’ve accepted the fact we’re not gonna be tg and i don’t want this person coming back. but i still pray that they find themselves and change for THEIR good. that’s at least me 🤷♂️

As a former dismissive avoidant that was secure when I met her, I genuinely wanted to help her through it. Not for me, at least not as the primary goal, but for her and all of her connections in life. Side effect is o get a good partner, like the one in the beginning. But the real goal was for her to be able to fix relationships with her kids, family, and friends that the avoidant behavior had destroyed. People she told me she wanted back but was scared to reach out to because they might pull farther away. She couldn't understand that am apol9 and accountability was needed on her end to start.
