I’ve been wanting so badly to go on a retreat to disconnect from the everyday and reconnect with myself. But I am SO concerned about being in the wrong space with the wrong people. Or around people who are advantageous.

So many masks, so much regurgitation without understanding or embodiment. all projecting who they would like to be. Im leary anybody who has ended up in this space because of reaching for something. Watch long enough and you realize they are just wearing a different costume.

Yes!! I’ve found that the most spiritual people are the least likely to present as one. The more you try to make spirituality your aesthetic, the less you’re truly embodying it. I’m a bodyworker/tarot reader and so much that’s offered in the spiritual community is snake oil, because no one else’s ego can “heal” you, they can and should only be a guide to help you access your own sovereignty. It’s such a capitalist mindset to approach humans as something that need to be “fixed” when we are already whole

Spiritual spaces are always plagued with (*required for growth, let’s be honest) occasional trickster energy (not malevolence but curious regardless) and just out and out negative and narcissistic vampiric type of personalities. Discernment is REQUIRED .

It’s taken me so long to find even a handful of people I would trust my full energy with. They have very good protection practices and integrity with the work they do. And even then when I want to build friendships with them it gets weird and I see things that makes me step back. Anytime someone says “let’s connect our energy as one” I’m like “nope!” And I slam my protections down and start allowing only certain parts of it to flow out but nothing to flow in from them.
