if its a condition where “you have to see if you guys will work out” then don’t say “dating to marry” because it invalidates the true meaning. If youre “dating to marry” and are concerned if you’ll work out then youre not dating to marry at all. Because marriage is not a finish line its just the beginning. If you are so terrified of “not working out” then you’ll be surprised how many things that are still needed to workout even when youre married. So date because you choose to marry them. Relationship is a choice and not a river you just ride the current with, doesnt mean theres a blockage in the way you’ll move out the way and stop riding.

I think you’re describing what dating is supposed to be. To me, “dating to marry” means I only date people I could genuinely see myself marrying. Meaning I only date you because I already feel I want to marry you. The relationship itself is where we figure out if we’re actually compatible enough to make that happen.

Actually ppl often forget that that’s the real purpose of it. You don’t get to marry someone just to marry them. You have to look into it and understand if you really should. Some ppl date their partners no matter what just bc they think it’s destiny even if they are being treated poorly
