@blacksportsroom: With college football season right around the corner, we’re getting ready to see the North Carolina A&T cheerleaders bring the heat and lead the energy on the sidelines. But as we gear up for kickoff, the fight happening off the field demands that exact same level of focus and championship intensity. ✊🏽 August 6th marks the anniversary of the historic Voting Rights Act of 1965, a monumental triumph won through the blood, sweat, and sacrifices of Civil Rights icons. Yet, decades later, Black voting rights are continuously being gutted through restrictive voter ID laws, gerrymandered redistricting, purges of voter rolls, and judicial rollbacks that undermine federal oversight. From student-athletes to fans in the stands, civic engagement and protecting our voice at the ballot box—including on NC A&T’s campus—is a non-negotiable team effort. The battle for equity and representation doesn't stop when the clock runs out on Saturday; it requires us to stay locked in every single day. 🗳️💙💛 (🎥: ncatcheer/IG) #NCAT #HBCUCheer #VotingRights #BlackVote #HBCU

As a current NC A&T student, this message hits home!! For those who may be wondering.. We students have seen firsthand what happens when access to the ballot is challenged. When the local government moved to eliminate early voting sites at NC A&T and UNCG, Aggies did not stay silent. We showed up, spoke out, and continue advocating for accessible voting. That is what this post is about. It is not just celebrating our history; it is carrying it forward. Aggies have always led through action, and we will continue making our voices heard at the ballot box. Aggie Pride. Aggies Vote. 💙💛
