THEY ARE!! RobertHalf is my usual go to, and have been slacking SEVERELY lately! Even other staffing agencies that I reached out to started gatekeeping jobs and making decisions for the client (that they didn't even ask for). These last two months have been a horror show trying to get temp work, to the point where I damn near had to beg because they just wouldn't answer their phones nor respond to emails.

THEY ARE. I did the whole temp agency thing, you know, recruiter found a job, sent the "hiring manager" my resume got the interview, went to the building to meet with them and I knew as soon as I stepped in the building I wasn't going to get it. I had two interviewers a man and a woman. The guy was the one who was leaving so he was talking about the role and what he does etc etc. The woman though..... She was not interested in the conversation and she was the only Latino woman there in a sea of white men (peeped that early). When she walked me out after, mind you didn't say two words during the interview or shake my hand I already knew what it was. To add salt to this in the end they switched me from the recruiter I had for the longest and she had never seen my face I'm pretty sure that woman told her I was black because all of a sudden I never heard from her again and got a new recruiter who only had call center or customer service roles for me --- but hey maybe it's alllll in my head lmao 😂

Adventhealth is notorious for that. As soon as I say "No I do not speak spa" I hear nothing back. I went to 3 interviews with Adventhealth in Davenport Florida, soon as I walked in the manager looked disappointed,finding out they hired all Spanish speaking but not one black. No offense but this happens to multiple people

I couldn’t agree more. Based on my experience, I’m targeting roles that pay $85 an hour or more, and I regularly get contacted about opportunities in that range. Then I’ll have a staffing agency or recruiter reach out with a job paying $19 or $20 an hour. My first thought is, “Are you serious? Did you even look at my resume?” It’s honestly insulting. With my background and experience, sending me opportunities like that feels like they’re playing in my face. Like you said, I don’t know if it has something to do with people of color or what, but it’s hard not to wonder. Sometimes I want to reply and ask, “Did you actually read my resume before sending this?”

Man, I had an “interview” with Goodwin Recruiting and it ended up being an AI agent. A female voice named “Hunter” asked me vague questions that didn’t really align with the job I applied for. I was ready to hang up the call because I wasn’t talking to a real person, but they ghosted me. I think they’re using us to train their AI systems

Happens to me all the time, they reach back months later for something entry level low wage job but never hire for what you are definitely qualified for 😏

I had a recruiter not joined the scheduled meeting at the designated time for my phone screening. I had another reschedule 17 minutes before my phone screening because they weren’t feeling well. Both still hit me with we decided to pursue other candidates email after their unprofessionalism😡

As a past Recruiter and HR, I can say the only reason why my company dismiss people is because they’re extremely rude don’t care and for the most part of it when they would come into an interview, even though they were told business professional attire they would come in with jeans, sweatpants, graphic tease, smelling like weed a lot of the times Unfortunately, a lot of people do not have work etiquette. The parents are not teaching/training the kids how to be presentable to society anymore. The kids don’t care. And this is for ages range in between 18 and 40. and this is for all cultures to be honest I do know a lot of companies do not have personal recruits. recruiters are expensive and AI is cheap but overall this is gonna hurt businesses. I just hope it happens soon. AI needs to go away. and because companies are being racist if you do get an interview, I suggest recording it.
