The way to answer this question is to ask yourself, is it harder to get from however much money you have now till 50k? Or is it harder to get from whatever you have now plus 50k to a million? Most millionaires will tell you your first 100k is the most difficult milestone to reach whilst reaching a million is easy. This is because money generates money these days. Unfortunately the rich gets richer and poor gets poorer catch phrase is really true. If you have 50k to play with, it’s much easier to generate money with investments, reselling etc to get to that million. These millionaires will tell you it might take 3-5 years to do that. But getting from what you have to 100k is gonna take another 5 years. So the smarter answer is to take that guaranteed 50k and jumpstart your investment. You’re basically guaranteeing yourself to be a millionaire by a certain age.
