@diybyndivhuwo: Do you use gas at home ? Whether you’re new to gas appliances or have been using them for years, these simple safety checks can make all the difference. A handy tip: When choosing your gas, make sure you’re using a genuine Afrox Handigas cylinder. Always check that the cylinder is clearly branded Afrox Handigas and has a valid inspection date stamped on it before use. Here are two tips: • Always check for leaks after connecting your cylinder using a soapy water solution. If you see bubbles, turn the gas off immediately and fix the leak before use. • Keep your gas cylinder upright in a well ventilated area and never store it near heat sources or open flames. Yhoo I was visiting a friend once during winter. The damn thing exploded, a flame rushed from the heater, moved along the tile floor all the way to under the couches.😳 The doors and windows were blown out, the bathroom ceiling caved. She threw the baby at me as i was running out and away from the couch . To this day, i wonder what caused it to happen exploded like that

Tip No.6 - One turn of the valve to open the gas cylinder is enough. Should there be an issue, you will only need one turn to close it.
Tip No. 7 - When food starts bubbling, turn the gas to the lowest setting. This will assist in using less gas. BTW, this is the same for electrical hobs/stoves.

Yeyi, they are now attaining those seals somehow.
My house almost blew up about 3 months ago & I was buying from a place that claims to be supplied by Afrox, been buying from them since 2017, & recently they started filling elsewhere & using the legit Afrox seals. Still traumatized

Thank you for this… I’m so scared of gas cylinders but I don’t have a choice. I recently purchased a gas stove and heater, I’m nervous I have to say. I’m looking for people who install gas as we speak.🥺

With gas It’s like owning a Ford car that’s still under warranty. You wouldn’t expect Toyota to carry out warranty repairs on it. Ford authorises specific dealerships and mechanics to work on its vehicles under its standards. Yes, there are many independent mechanics who can repair a Ford, but the important question is whether they’re authorised and qualified for the work they’re doing. That’s why you verify first.
The same principle applies to LPG cylinders. Just because someone refills gas doesn’t mean they’re authorised to refill every branded cylinder. Before trusting any supplier, verify that they’re authorised and registered. When it comes to gas, taking shortcuts can have serious consequences, not only for you but for everyone around you.

If you’re not sure whether your local “makhelwane” or neighbourhood gas refill business is authorised to refill or distribute gas , don’t just take their word for it., you can verify whether a company is permitted by visiting LPGSA. You can check the Permitted Cylinders Database and also installers help ensure you’re buying from a legitimate supplier. A few minutes of checking can go a long way in keeping you, your family , and ME safe.
