The founder of this Kingdom, the Kabi Dynasty (KEBBI) since 1515, Muhammadu Kanta was a great warrior who made a name and left a history where his name and bravery can be seen in the history books of my generation. He was the first King of Kabi who ruled this kingdom from 15151-1561. From his time until after him, the kingdom expanded until it was wider than today's Nigeria. because at that time he won many places and war came under his rule. For example, in the North, he conquered Zabarma, Adar and Azbin until he bordered Songhai. Later his grandson King of Kabi Dauda conquered half of Songhai and Kabi bordered with Morocco. In the eastern part, he conquered Zamfara, Gobir, Katsina and Kano, until he reached the limit of destruction in Nguru. In the south, he conquered Yauri, Zazzau, Gwari and Nupe. The capital city of Surame was built as the headquarters of the Kabi Empire since his time. Since this time, the inner and outer walls of Surame City have not been broken. Surame that is the first city of Kabawa is currently in front of Silame before you reach Bunkari town in Binji Local Government Area in Sokoto State. After many years of the reign of the Sarkin of Kabi, Tomo son of Ibrahim son of Kanta was raised from Surame and the city of Birnin Kebbi was established in 1702. The city of Birnin-Kebbi is the second city of Kabawa which is currently the headquarters of Kebbi state. After developing for a long time, Kabawa changed their headquarters where the 21st king of Kabi, namely Sama'ila Karari, came from Birnin Kebbi and moved to Argungu in 1831, but he did not stay and was killed. Then in 1849, his son, Yakubu Nabame, became the King of Kabi and some Tunggage under some heroes were united and a big town called Argungu was established as the new headquarters of the Kabi Empire. The brave warriors who joined together to form Argungu are Lailaba, Tsoho, Gumtsari, Zumunce, Jandamo and Dankoji. From this time until today, Argungu is the center of Argungu emirate (Kabi Empire). In short, the European rule weakened this kingdom until it returned to the way it is known now because more than half of the country of Kabi is under the rule of French Europeans, such as Niger and parts of Benin and Burkina Faso, which before the Europeans came were all under the Emir of Kabi. When the state of Kebbi was created, the history of its existence was followed from the time of Kanta who first created the land of Kabi (Kebbi) and this state was named Kebbi so that the history of Kabi (Kebbi) would not be forgotten.
