Lighting is everything but all three you showed on screen were different lighting styles. Good contrast ratios between the subject and background and most likely back camera recorded outside of TikTok or front camera using cinematic mode or CapCut focus filter.

I have an iPhone 17 promax and I use Cinematic mode with the settings like this according to chatGPT Set your f-stop first: Put it between f/2.0 and f/2.8 for that smooth blur. 2. Tap and hold on your face: Lock the focus on yourself (you’ll see AE/AF LOCK appear at the top). 3. Drag the EV/Sun slider slightly down: Dial it down just a bit (around -0.3 or -0.7). You’ll immediately notice your skin tone looks richer and the product details pop more against the background.

the quality doesn’t look as good as a ss but I posted this video a while ago and got asked by so many people how I filmed it. I have a 16 pro and used my back camera on regular camera not TikTok. I used that rectangular TikTok light I’ll also add it. But I also used a screen mirroring thing and put it on my octobuddy so I could see myself to make sure I was in the frame!

Unfortunately, it’s the older cameras and if you mess with the settings in the older cameras, like an iPhone 15 iPhone 16 for some reason, the quality of those cameras are better than the iPhone 17 Pro, which I also have

As a photographer, the camera is important yes, but it’s the lighting. Lighting is more important than the camera.
