Convenient, when they've just announced a new housing development/mini city being built on/around the tolka

There needs to be bigger punishment for this than the usual couple of hundred euros fines crap, it’ll take years for the river to recover , it’s should be against the law for farmers and companies or anyone to use chemicals and stuff so close to rivers and streams , enough isn’t being done to prevent this from happening 😡

This happens every year or 2 its ridiculous ,our government is completely spineless and allows irreparable damage to our environment and habitats by turning a blind eye as long as its profitable. This isnt news it happens repeatedly, ireland has no more pristine rivers anymore every single one has some level of pollution and water quality issue

Ireland 🇮🇪 :
This is nothing to do with fishing! this is pollution, high nitrates, land run off and the lack of resources to police these man made fish/invertebrate kills. Hot weather unfortunately brings its own problems! but chemical dilution is not possible if the rains don't come.
