Osogbo — August 2, 2026 | AccordWatch ## Throwback: How Governor Adeleke's Healthcare and Roads Pledges on ARISE TV Translated Into Delivery In a resurfaced ARISE TV interview, Governor Ademola Adeleke had outlined his administration's plans to expand healthcare delivery in Osun State through the rehabilitation of primary healthcare centres, medical outreach programmes, and the enrollment of pensioners and vulnerable citizens into the Osun Health Insurance Scheme. He also disclosed plans to rehabilitate internal roads across major cities in the state. A look at the administration's record shows a series of outcomes tied to those commitments. ### Healthcare Delivery On health insurance enrollment, the administration says it has enrolled all pensioners in the state into the health insurance scheme, alongside 10,000 people living with disabilities, 1,000 inmates, and all traditional rulers and their wives. The government also says it organised medical outreach programmes across the state that reached over 80,000 beneficiaries. Osun State was recognised as the best-performing state in the South West for primary healthcare delivery in both 2024 and 2025, attracting a combined cash prize of $1 million. ### Road Infrastructure On the roads front, the administration says it has constructed over 300 kilometres of internal roads across the state. Major projects cited include the dualisation of the Ilesa, Iwo, Ila, and Ede township roads, as well as the dualisation of the Osogbo–Ikirun road. In Ile-Ife, the government points to the dualisation and construction of the city's first flyover.
