If you want to do Xmen right then you have to a reason for the humans to fear the mutants. Thats what generates the best Xmen stories. They can reference this to explain why humans fear the mutants. I think its perfect

The villain was Damage Control wih what they did to her and what they are planning to do with confiscated tech. They were working to weaponize Jean and her sister. Jean was a young solo with no training and no mentor. She was a victim who overpowered and overcame. This was a Spiderman story where he dealt with multiple challenges. Jean being one of the biggest, does not make it her movie.

SPOILER WARNING: People were saying she’s too evil but I want to push back against that. She was mad at Peter and did bad things to hurt him and others. I think she started as a villain, and is just as “redeemable” Loki was. Loki, the character that everyone now loves, was literally JOLLY as he was stealing / pulverizing that guy’s eye in Avengers 1. Loki has grown and developed as a character since then into someone people like. Jean is the same IMO. This is the movie where she was the villain and I think she will transition into a beloved character in time. + goated casting 🙌

The mutants are meant to be messy AF, not perfect heroes and telepaths especially are inherently problematic because they're powers go against consent. They got it spot on.

My thing is. This is a Jean who got to her late teens or early 20s we don’t know how old, without Charles or Scott. Something we’ve rarely seen. So it makes sense for her to be a little more angry
