my ancestors literally built this country off their backs and tears so why would i turn around and ridicule their creation? we are the generation of black americans that our ancestors prayed for bc we live a quality of life that would be unfathomable to them 100+ years ago

its actually the opposite for me. knowing black american history makes me even prouder to be a black american. i take so much pride in my ancestors and everything they built out of literally nothing during chattel slavery. everything we have today started from their survival, strength and sacrifice likeee our culture, history and our influence across the world. the life im able to live now exists because of what they endured and created so why wouldnt i be proud? i wouldnt wanna be anything else.
