I had a doctor tell me I was imagining my symptoms and then he sent me away saying “some people just aren’t made for nyc”… when I was diagnosed with my autoimmune disease by a competent doctor, I paid out of pocket for a full ass appointment with this man just to look him in the eye and say “some people just aren’t made to be doctors”

Reminds me of a woman on here who told a dermatologist that she had PCOS. The derm refused to believe her, said that had to be diagnosed by an OBGYN. Patient said “I AM an OBGYN.” 💀

As a doctor, unfortunately we aren’t really taught how various skin conditions appear on every skin tone. Most pictures in textbooks are on lighter skin tones. The bias is real in medical training, as it is in most things in our society tbh.

I had one doctor tell me my blood loss was all in my head. Excuse me? I am down to 7 pints of blood and have no gaping wound(s) where it escaped and this is all in my head? Turned out I had a huge internal cyst that was sucking up all my blood! I almost died from it!

Side note, if you have a nickel allergy, make sure you’re getting a nickel free eyelash curler, bc that was my whole issue causing eye dermatitis!
