cool project by the way, just fyi, most professional flashes can be put to S1/S2 mode where the IR sensor at the front detect flash from your digicam and triggers at the same time. So basically someone already thought of that

cool DIY project! 👌😍 ... you can also use "optical flash SIāvê trigger" cost £9 or use SIāvê mode S1 / S2 available on most modern Flash to trigger the flash for Any digital P&S camera. 😊📸
