9 week loss. I only told a couple people. When I lost my pregnancy, I couldn’t pretend I was okay and I needed support. So I ended up telling a lot more people who never even knew I was pregnant. And it’s sad to me that I never got to share the joy with them, only the depression. My baby wasn’t really celebrated, only mourned.

Yes!! I was gonna wait until 12-13 but decided to at 7.5. My sister had 3 miscarriages so i was terrified i’d lose baby right after announcing. I’m now almost 9 and still

This is also my hot take. I didn’t think I could get pregnant to begin with. I’m fully aware of all the things that could happen before my baby is born, but I am fully expecting a healthy baby, and the fact that I was able to carry this little human, is a huge miracle and it’s 100000% worth celebrating

Not a critique, because I go back and forth with this!!! How do you balance the guilt of devastating our families if we do have a loss and we’ve just got everyone excited just to have them hurt along side of us. Maybe this is just something only I struggle with 😅

especially after loss! the first trimester is the scariest stage for me and you need the most support to get through that

Honestly, more people might actually understand how common miscarriage actually is if we didn't feel this need to hide them. The entire reason you're not supposed to share immediately is because the first trimester is when most miscarriages happen, but why would I not want people to know about my baby even if they didn't make it?

I only announced because I was on death’s doorstep and my family would’ve caught on

We aren’t positing until our baby is here. Our closest friends and family know already and they’ve been very supportive 🥰

Other than family and friends, our “pregnancy announcement” online was sadly our miscarriage announcement. We also lost our baby girl at 17 weeks earlier this year 💓 I won’t let myself do that again. Every life deserves celebration no matter how long their lifespan is!

I told who I wanted to tell when I found out, and then we told family/friends.. I’ve kept it private at work although you can obviously tell.

No honestly. EXACTLY THIS. I told my husband that I refuse to grieve alone. We had an Ectopic Pregnancy and I lost a fillopian tube. We found out we were pregnant as the tube was already ruptured. it was hard to tell people. we WERE pregnant but now we aren't. this time around we told everyone as soon as we knew. EVERYONE around us knows what this means for us and are there to help and cheer us on!!!!

I waited to tell most of my family. Had emergency ectopic surgery at 7w1d and then had to tell them all I lost a baby, when they didn’t know I had one. It was hard.

THIS. And if I don’t tell you and post it on Facebook. Get over it. It’s not that serious. Especially if you gave zero support on my miscarriage

I did ivf at 40 with endometriosis I was lucky enough for my first transfer to stick, I didn’t announce it until I was 7 months and I hid from a lot of friends and family. Only my mom and brothers knew

We planned to announce at 13 weeks. But then I was put on bed rest and health issues came up. We lost my son at 17 weeks and I was devastated we never got to have that happy announcement. Long story, announcement should be whenever you want!

I agree life should be celebrated but after 2 losses I feel the complete opposite. I feel the need to protect it from everyone. It’s weird because so many people that you think will be happy for you sometimes aren’t .. I wouldn’t mind sharing with very close loved ones but extended family, friends and SM I am very conflicted about .. I feel like once you put it out there you open the door to so much

personally I rather wait till 12/13 because of loss happens. I lost one at 10 weeks 10 years ago and I haven't told anyone I was pregnant, even the father didn't know at that time because I had pretty much found out and immediately miscarried. i told him and my best friend of the time about the loss and both reactions they had sent me spiralling to the point I had to my hospitalized for my mental state. to this day I have family who never knew exactly why I was hospitalized and I can never tell them. I won't let someones opinions ruin how I feel about my angel baby ever again. I've told my husband that when we do get those positive tests I am willing to tell a select few but until we are pass 10 week personally it's just to scary to tell anymore for me.

With my first loss, my husband and I waited to announce, and then we lost our baby before people knew. We waited until after the first trimester to announce with our second one too, and it was soo difficult to wait. Then we lost our son after birth. We are about to try again, after being forced to wait 18 months due to the delivery I had with my son, and this time I’m going to announce as soon as I find out basically. I am ready to celebrate EVERY. SINGLE. MOMENT 💗 I agree with everything you said

As someone who’s had several miscarriages, and have 3 babies here on earth… I get this and am so conflicted on it myself. Only because I haven’t gotten the best reactions or support anytime I have announced it. I’m currently in my first trimester, and only my husband, children, and mother know. I’ve been thinking about it - and I don’t even know if I’m going to publicly announce it or even announce it to anyone else until I deliver. 🤷🏻‍♀️😥
