Don’t forget to also teach your kids what is acceptable behavior TOWARD THEM, how friends really treat each other, and their value. I think this is all wonderful, but as a teacher and a parent it’s so important to teach both sides—what they give but also what they get…their worth and value and how to recognize traits of people they want to align themselves with, how others can impact them in negative/positive ways, etc ❤️

Saving this to share with my kids tomorrow! I also make sure to tell my kids it’s not enough to just not be a bully. You have to be an anti bully. Go out of your way to stand up for others and also reach out to those that may be getting bullied and befriend them.

I have done the same with my son. He will be a senior this year and is the kindest person I know. I still remember the names of the kids that bullied me in 5th grade. I remember what they were wearing, what they said, their laughs after they said the words that as you mentioned probably left their minds 5 seconds after they were spoken yet stayed with me forever. It affected me my entire life. I’m 48. Kindness and inclusion are taught in my household and I believe should be taught in everyone’s. It matters so much. Thanks for sharing. ❤️🫶
