I thought once I knew how to make yogurt, I was good to go. But along the way, I learned that building a serious brand requires investing in equipment, packaging, learning, improving your process, and creating a product people can trust. 2. Having a great recipe does not automatically mean you will have customers. You can have the best yogurt recipe, but if people do not know your product exists, how will they appreciate its value? Marketing is a major part of business. You have to put your product in front of people and create awareness. 3. I never knew how much branding matters. The way your product looks, your packaging, your presentation, and the feeling people get when they see your brand all play a role. People do not only buy the product; they also connect with the brand behind it. 4. I never knew costing was this important. It is not enough to just pick a selling price. You need to know exactly what goes into producing your yogurt and make sure your price covers your expenses and allows your business to grow. A proper costing sheet helps you understand when costs increase and when your pricing needs to be reviewed. 5. Consistency is what makes a business different. At the beginning, I thought making thick yogurt was the goal. But I later learned that consistency is more important. Your customers should be able to buy your yogurt today and still get the same quality, taste, and texture another time.
