for those wondering, different materials have differing layer adhesion. for things like nylon with reinforcing fibers, theres very little loss in strength and the whole structure can be more cleverly reinforced in the design phase. tpu, petg, etc. these all have excellent adhesion... and for larger applications, you can make the blend for qualities desired. dont knock it without understanding it.
