Yes but this also shows how a movie doesn’t need a specific villain to work. The Spider-Man movies were on if the most succesful movies ever. BND alone made 900 mil $ on the opening weekend

Imagine this, Peter Parker ends up at an internship with Dr. Octavious, and knowing how things turned out in Peter 2's universe, he tries as hard as he can to keep him from turning into a villain, but somehow that is what actually pushes him to villainy or something like that. There's still potential there.
