@godscripted: Pedro Serrano was a 16th-century Spanish sailor who was marooned for seven to eight years on a small desert island in the Caribbean off Nicaragua’s coast, starting sometime in the 1520s. He survived by eating shrimp, cockles, and other animals washed up on shore, and by collecting rainwater in sea turtle shells. He later found two flint-like stones underwater, which let him make fire and cook his food. Another Spanish castaway joined him partway through, and the two were eventually rescued after a passing ship spotted their smoke signal. Imagine bro gave up on year 7 day 364. #nevergiveup
