Meanwhile my $500 (each) washer and dryer broke twice 7 years and repair tech said it’s cheaper to replace them than it is to fix them. 🫣

Some older models lasted…that washer often did not. 25 year Sears tech here…the metal tub on that washer rusted where the gearcase bellow attached with a large clamp.

Mom had a dryer from the 70’s, had the STP sticker my brother stuck on it (Dad went to his grave still pissed about that😂)..in 2014 they moved to Tennessee. Stopped using it because the laundry room was gas. I’m 2020 her gas dryer died. This one was in the garage. My brother and I ran some 220, plugged it in…worked like new…70’s avocado green…

I have my washer and dryer I bought in 2003 when I bought my house and yes, they still work. Dial washer and dryer and we just replaced the belt on the dryer for the first time. I'll NEVER give up my dial washer and dryer. My friend has the HE washer and dryer and said she's had to replace them several times over the last few years.
