He didn’t want him to suffer the same as his sister, after saving his life it was the last favour he did before listening to Peter’s advice and leaving. May was the representation of motherhood, Punisher (Frank) of Peter’s father figure and indirectly of Jane, and Peter represented the brotherhood

I was on the fence about Sadie, I knew she was a great actor, but after seeing her in this film I'm very happy that she was chosen for Jean. And I love that they gave her a life line with Peter and it wasnt just another X mutant.
