A lot of artists (that's into profiting their art) either don't know or would not admit that an art style is your own brand. Your own brand to sell and make profit from. Like you can't technically "own" an art style, but if you're going to the business route of art, then you can actually own an art style because thats where your whole basis and profits gonna be.

I think if it’s an artstyle from a big company like PJSK, Genshin, Danganronpa artstyle it makes sense but if it’s from an individual artist it’s weird

It’s completely fine to copy other artists’ styles for practice and study, that’s one of the best ways to learn, but you definitely shouldn’t try to permanently make your own art style an exact 1:1 copy of someone else’s instead use their work to understand techniques, then let your own preferences and habits shape your style over time

I think it’s only okay with like a anime or game artstyle. Like for example if someone wanted their genshin oc to be like the genshin artstyle they could commission someone. But I still think you should ask find your own artstyle too
