A quick clarification ❤️Why I mentioned liver: Liver is extremely rich in preformed vitamin A (retinol). Excessive intake of retinol during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester, has been associated with an increased risk of birth defects. That’s why many obstetric guidelines advise pregnant women to avoid or strictly limit liver consumption. Why I mentioned nail polish: It’s not because one application will harm your baby. However, some nail polishes and removers contain chemicals such as formaldehyde, toluene, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and other solvents that have raised concerns about reproductive toxicity, particularly with repeated or prolonged exposure. Since there is no health benefit to these exposures during pregnancy, the safest approach is to minimise them, especially in the first trimester and in poorly ventilated areas. Pregnancy is about reducing unnecessary risks wherever possible. My advice is based on the precautionary principle and current scientific understanding—not fear.
