Corpsmen operate in a variety of places. They can work out in the field with marines, work on ships or submarines, or on shore in clinics/hospitals. From working in medical records to taking vitals, to performing some procedures, or saving the life of a wounded marine from a gunshot wound. But they work under the license of a provider, and have to operate under those limitations. They are taught BLS, pre hospital situations (like EMS), inpatient and outpatient. Sometimes they might be the only medical help around, especially out with marines. However, as long as they are trained in whatever it is they’re doing, they can DO that. — hospital corpsman in training
