When he came to his first Pride, he finally felt like he belonged, like he wasn’t “too much” or “out of place” just for existing. Someone saying “he’s not gay” changes nothing. His message isn’t about labeling himself — it’s about finding safety, acceptance, and feeling seen for the very first time. For so many of us from Nigeria, we grow up being shamed, judged, or attacked just because we don’t fit what people think we “should” look or act like. That feeling of “I finally belong here” is real, no matter what label anyone tries to force on him. Everyone deserves to feel like they matter 🖤

To the uninformed people who do not know what Pride is and who can attend: Pride is a public parade where LGBTQ+ people and their allies celebrate diversity, identity and acceptance. This also means that a father can attend a Pride parade because he accepts his gay son, a friend can attend in support of their gay friend, a straight person can attend because they believe in queer people's rights. Point is, you don't have to be gay to attend Pride parade.
