@jessnuremberg: I did 10 egg retrievals, so I’ve lived both sides of the statistics. In your early 30s, each mature egg has a much higher chance of becoming an embryo than it does in your 40s. But statistics describe groups, not individuals. My eggs from my early 30s never became embryos. The eggs I retrieved in my 40s did. It was the opposite of what the numbers predicted. That’s why I always tell women to understand the statistics, but don’t assume they’ll predict your personal outcome. Sometimes you’ll be on the wrong side of the odds. Sometimes you’ll be on the right side. The only way to know your story is to go through the process. Every IVF journey is different, and this was mine. #IVF #EggFreezing #IVFJourney #FertilityAwareness #SingleMomByChoice
