WHAT STORY ARE YOU STILL BELIEVING? …that story in your head isn’t the whole truth. It’s a version. Your version. But it’s not the full picture. Most people replay a relationship, a breakup, or a conflict like a movie where they remember every line perfectly. But memory doesn’t work like that. We remember what we felt, not what actually happened. So we build a story around it. A story that sounds something like this… “I gave everything.” “I said the right things.” “They didn’t love me.” “They used me.” “I showed up perfectly.” But pause for a second. Because the truth is usually more complicated. The way you remember what you said is not exactly how you said it. The way you remember how generous you were might not match how it landed. The way you remember how calm you were might not be how you actually came across. And the way you remember their intentions might not be the full story either. Here are a few examples. You think you were communicating calmly. They remember feeling criticized. You think you were patient. They remember you pulling away emotionally. You think you were clear about your needs. They remember confusion and mixed signals. You think you gave 90 percent. They remember feeling like they were carrying the relationship. Now here’s the twist. Their version isn’t the full truth either. They have their own emotional lens. Their own wounds. Their own blind spots. So neither story is the whole truth. Just two human perspectives trying to make sense of what happened. Real freedom shows up the moment you stop defending your story. And instead ask three better questions. 1.	What was my part in this? 2.	Do I need to make amends for anything? 3.	What can I learn so I don’t repeat it? That’s where growth actually starts. Because when you drop the story you stop being trapped by it. And that’s when healing gets real. Quick recap Your memory is a perspective, not a recording. Their story isn’t perfect either. Growth starts when you take responsibility and learn. 💭 If this hit home, comment “truth” below. 🗓️ If you’re ready to break the patterns keeping you stuck, book a call with me through the link in my bio. #relationships #selfawareness #emotionalintelligence #HealingJourney #windinherhairpodcast
