A jury trial for four men accused in a 2024 South Monterey County shooting spree that left six people dead and seven injured is scheduled to begin Aug. 23, 2027, the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office said. Pedro Nava, Jonathan Cervantes, Manuel Galindo Rodriguez and Angel Evans are accused in the killings of two cousins, Andres Garcia and Jack Canchola, on Feb. 4, 2024, outside Greenfield, and the March 3, 2024, shooting at a King City birthday party. The defendants have been ordered to stand trial. Nava is accused of orchestrating the killings, while the other three are accused of carrying out the shootings. Evans was 17 when he allegedly committed the killings. Four people were killed and seven others were injured at the King City party. Those killed were Francisco Perez, Olivo Perez, Mario Guzman and Alicia Aparicio. All four defendants are charged with the six murders connected to the two shootings and several other crimes. A standby jury calendar date is scheduled for Aug. 17, 2027, and a pretrial conference is set for Jan. 26, 2027. The trial date could change.
