My mom has a wisteria that is over 60 yrs old. It took over an OLD power pole (that no longer had pwr to it) and the vines are nearly as big around as the pole. It's really impressive looking like a giant umbrella tree. I'll try to find a pic to add.

We didn't know we had a Wisteria on our porch. It was called "the monster vine" because it was so dense and grew like crazy. Finally after 20 years, I saw flowers at the top, and we found out it was a wisteria. 😅😂

For people thinking of doing this: wisteria is toxic and invasive. If you have pets, it’s toxic to them. Also, it’s a climber so if you have it close to your house or fence, it will grow through anything.

I love wisteria. It’s one of my favorite flowers and it’s supposed to ward against negative energy/spirits. However I think it’s because the vine its self is in fact an evil spirit. I’d recommend daily maintenance/trimming. It’ll destroy everything in your yard. To include your house. Maybe even your neighbors 🤷🏼♀️

this is best placed in a yard away from other structures. wisteria will destroy your fence and can destroy your house. 👍 if u place it in the lawn with nothing around for it to grab, it's easier to keep it in check.
