If it helps, in no way do you appear crazy or impaired. You are eloquent, logical, and warm.

I direct a Memory Care and I sooo appreciate you sharing. Most of my residents are quite old and progressed in their dementia journey and it's really educational for me to hear how this feels for you. My Mom has recent onset so I'm in the journey with her. Thank you

As a former hospice nurse, I would share two videos from YouTube to help the patients and their families understand and anticipate what the disease process will look like. Go to YouTube and look up a video called "Understand Alzheimer's Disease in 3 minutes." It's a fast explanation of what is happening and why. The second video is from a Dateline episode over 10 years ago with Katherine McFadden and it's called "Experience 12 minutes in Alzheimer's Dementia." This is something your husband should watch for sure as it may really help going forward. If anyone has 15 total minutes to learn an awful lot about this disease and what it does both inside and outside the body, this is an excellent start. I'm following your journey because your experience is fascinating to me. Thank you for sharing yourself with the world and perhaps those who need to know that they're not alone. 🥰

Yes, makes sense. When the brain is struggling to consistently understand things, humor & sarcasm can be more confusing or stressful.

That’s one of my stays well. They haven’t diagnosed me with early onset but FND, PTSD and long covid but I feel I have vascular dementia.

Thank you so much for sharing this. As a nurse it helps greatly. As a child of 2 parents who had severe dementia, father with Alzheimer’s, it helps me know what to look for in symptoms myself.

Hi Stacie. it sounds very scary what you're going through, I'm so very sorry. Do you think it might go away or is it the progression of the disease? I'm here too if you'd ever like to talk and I'm on Facebook as well. Thinking of you, Jackie xo
