This is the follow-up to the fearing-God videos, and the answer is hiding in a one-sentence parable about bread. Here's the thing nobody tells you about ancient leaven: it wasn't a packet of yeast, it was a pinch of dough saved from the last batch. Every loaf carried a piece of the loaf before it, going back through every batch a family ever made. So when God says at Passover to get rid of all of it, no leaven found in your houses, he's telling them to break a chain that runs back through every loaf they baked in Egypt. You can't carry Egypt's starter into freedom. And that's part of the answer to why you're still like this. You got out, and you kept the old ferment. But then fifty days later, at Pentecost, God commands two loaves baked WITH leaven, on the altar, as firstfruits, even though leaven is banned from grain offerings everywhere else. A new ferment. And it's the same feast where the fire came down and rested on people's heads without burning them. Same day. The fire that rests, and the ferment that changes. Jesus says the kingdom is like leaven a woman hid in fifty pounds of flour, and watch the grammar: her only active verb is hiding it, and after that the dough
