@aimeesmithva: There’s nothing special in my early background to suggest that being a Full-Time Voice Actor from Australia was in the cards for me. No strong financial, nepotistic, or geographical ties. I’d never even met a Voice Actor at that stage. And no, I know for a fact I didn’t have a outworldly natural-born talent, just a natural-born love of acting from the moment I tried first tried it. It’s just discovering my interests aligning, my passion clicking, my heart wanting more and my brain moving into overdrive to turn a dream I didn’t even know was possible into a series of practical steps. Then, luck is just “preparation meets opportunity” and the rest is history. Of course it’s hard. And it’s harder now than ever. It’s a small market and if it wasn’t hard, EVERYONE would be doing this professionally. But if you just want to TRY voice acting for fun?
