Unfortunately my parents are teaching me responsibility and the value of money so I am paying for half of it myself! I think it makes drivers more careful. You can find nice cars for under 10k

You’re not crazy. My parents got me a 2025 Hyundai ELANTRA for my 16th as well and they didn’t care bc it was for their daughter who does great in school and is a good kid. Sounds like you love your daughter and she’s a good kid 💕

Truthfully this way is better. I’ve only ever had beaters and put more money into them than I bought them for. Getting her a reliable vehicle as her first will set her up for years to come.

If you but a cheap car you just get eaten alive on maintenance! Also they can keep that car for college! Looking for my daughter right now 20-25k but she’ll have so many safety features etc.

Honestly you can’t really get much for less than that these days unless it has high miles. We spent 30k on our sons used bmw and I feel like we got a deal 😅

You can buy your child whatever you want. I got a brand new car before I went to college. I could only drive it if I could pay for insurance and gas. My parents gave me things but I also had to work for it. Teach your kids even if you can give them everything ❤️❤️

My parents also bought my first car, and my dad drove it for a year before I got my license. They set me up to not have to worry about making enough for a decent car, or having to buy one that was going to break down on me. It’s been the greatest gift, and is still going strong 6 years and 100k+ miles later

my dad bought me a 20k honda civic! it’s safe, reliable, newish and i will have it for 300k miles! if you can treat your kids with a car like that then do it! couldn’t be more grateful!
