D. and here's the reason: The supraspinatus is the rotator cuff muscle that initiates the first 15° of arm abduction. A direct fall onto the lateral shoulder commonly injures its tendon, leading to pain and weakness when trying to lift the arm away from the body. Although the deltoid is also involved in abduction, it mainly acts after the first 15° and is not a rotator cuff muscle.
