As a devops who works with a lot of systems, Fable is refusing right at the start to prove that a security issue exist and Opus needs a lot of persuading to actually initiate serious debugging actions from which a bug report could be submitted on the upstream repos. For example take a kernel CVE and try to reproduce anything. It’s easy to debug blindly any apllication, but when you get to specifics with low level knowledge, the AI will refuse pretty fast.

This is rubbish hindsight is 20/20 you tell code to find the issue after it’s occurred and it finds it. They have claude code instances running through bug bounties 24/7 with thousand if not hundred of thousands of people trying. I’ve personally run thousands of codebase. It’s only because claude was told what to look for that it found it and the fact that it took 8 minutes when it knew what to look for tells you it would have never have found it with out the information from an attack.
