Ancient history :
I spent 30 yrs teaching history students that the president wasn’t above the law and that checks and balances would keep the gov’t from abusing its power. I knew it was time to retire when this was no longer the case.

None of this was taught while I was in highschool between 1993-1996. We studied math, chemistry, and read Beowulf. I've heard people say these things, but was never taught in school. Everything he said was folklore that people repeated, but not taught in school.

I had Goldfish in my pond for years and they knew who I was. Every morning I fed them by hand at the same spot. They knew my face. Anyone else would go by the pond they would swim off, when I came, they swam and followed me everywhere I walked. I could pick them up and they would play in my hand in the water. I miss my pond and my Gold fish friends.
